We sent some of the Appalachian members of our ensemble down to Pátzcuaro and Tingambato in the mountains of Michoacán, where they were welcomed into communities of musicians and dancers playing traditional music from the indigenous Purépecha tribe as well as the style of the local Tierras Calientes. 

It was a special exchange, and we're hoping to get some of the musicians we met to festivals in the states in the future!
